Dutch Delta Design
is the webmaster side of the sculptor Lucien den Arend. Dutch Delta Design has been active since 1997 when www.st-ives.net was born. After that year around 90 domains have been designed and published on the world wide web by him.
In this period Dutch Delta Design has moved from Holland to Finland where the sculptor is broadening his design activities toward furniture and industrial design. But, even though sculpture is his main profession, web design has his fullest attention. SEO (abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization), the science of the technique of preparing and marketing a website to optimize its chances of being indexed in the top results of a search engine once a relevant search is initiated intrigues him. Various factors are important when optimizing a website, including the content and structure of the website's copy and page layout, the HTML meta-tags and the submission process, increasing the amount of visitors to a website.
He lives and works in Kangasniemi Finland. His site specific sculptures as well as the freestanding sculpture and environmental projects represent his geometric and mathematical approach to his art. He designed and built his studio in Zwijndrecht The Netherlands. In south-west Holland he designed a highway bridge which was constructed. He installed a twenty meter long stainless steel sculpture, Opening the Arctic Circle, in Kemijärvi, a small town in Finnish Lapland. In the city of Vaasa, in the west of Finland, he installed a monumental sculpture, red Veera. For the Finnish city Kajaani he designed a park - the Suvanto Puisto - which was never executed. His sculpture is based on constructive principles. See his sculptures on the cities pages which have site specific and environmental works by the sculptor - public sculpture in the urban space on roundabouts and at public buildings of more than fifty five cities.
